SushiKi: a restaurant that owns its whole system

Black Layers built SushiKi in Hürth, near Cologne, its own point of sale, QR ordering, customer and rider apps and kitchen display. One system, run by the restaurant, live every service.

The brief

SushiKi's owner runs four restaurants in Germany. He needed one system for each of them: the counter, the kitchen, guests ordering from their table or their phone, deliveries, and German bookkeeping rules.

And it had to belong to the restaurant. Every order that arrives through a delivery platform such as Lieferando costs a commission of 13 to 30 percent. Every order that comes direct, from the restaurant's own app, website or table QR code, keeps that money in the business.

For guests

Guests scan the QR code on their table and order straight into the kitchen, or order ahead in the SushiKi app. Two brands, SushiKi and Don Vito, run from the same system, each with its own look and its own domain.

Every order lands on the right kitchen station and printer at once, and the restaurant can see which tables and campaigns bring orders in.

What this means for your project

A restaurant system touches money, tax rules, printers and hungry guests at the same time. We have built one and run it in production, in German and English, for an owner with four restaurants.

SushiKi's system belongs to SushiKi. We do not resell it. Each client gets a system built for them, shaped around how their business works, in their language and under their own brand. The same experience is behind a restaurant ordering platform we are building in Saudi Arabia, in Arabic.

The same team builds iOS apps, AI agents for WhatsApp and web platforms. If your business needs its own system rather than another subscription, see what a restaurant system can include or tell us about your project below.
