Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains how Black Layers collects, uses, and protects your information across all our apps.
Pocketry
Pocketry is in internal testing. Its app ideas, generated code, build records, and screenshots are processed through its AI and cloud providers. Its specific data practices and privacy request instructions are described in the Pocketry Privacy Policy. That policy applies to Pocketry where its practices differ from the other apps below.
Website, Clients and Payments
This section covers blacklayers.ca and the clients who buy our development, design and AI services. It applies in addition to the app sections below.
What we collect and why
- Enquiries and quotes — the name, email, phone and project details you send through our forms, email or WhatsApp, used to reply and prepare a quote.
- Client and billing records — business name, billing contact, address, tax ID, invoices, payments, refunds and the related correspondence, kept to deliver the project and to meet Canadian accounting and tax rules (up to 7 years).
- Payments — card and bank-debit payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store full card numbers; we receive only the payment status, the last four digits, card brand and Stripe's reference. Stripe's handling of your data is described in the Stripe Privacy Policy.
- Website usage — Google Analytics and Google Ads conversion measurement on our public pages, so we can see which pages help visitors and which ads work. These run only on public marketing pages; the payment, receipt and admin pages load no analytics or third-party scripts at all.
- Security logs — on payment and sign-in pages we keep a salted hash of the visitor's IP address (not the address itself) to limit abuse, plus an audit trail of invoice and payment events.
Who helps us process it
- Stripe (payments), Vercel (website hosting), Neon (database, United States), Resend (transactional email such as invoices and receipts) and Google (analytics and ads measurement). Each acts under its own privacy terms and only to provide its service to us.
- We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for advertising.
Cookies
- Public pages use Google Analytics and Google Ads cookies for measurement. Payment and admin pages set only the cookies needed to keep you signed in or to remember a preference.
- You can block analytics cookies in your browser; the site still works.
Your choices
- Ask what we hold about you, correct it, or ask us to delete it where the law lets us (invoices and payment records must be kept for tax purposes). Email bl@blacklayers.ca; we answer within 30 days under PIPEDA and Alberta's PIPA.
- Copies of your invoices and receipts are always available at blacklayers.ca/receipts.

Dreamscape — AI Dream Interpreter
- Voice recordings: Transcribed on-device via Apple SFSpeechRecognizer — no audio stored or transmitted
- Dream journal: Stored locally on your device using SwiftData — never uploaded automatically
- Dream transcriptions: Text only sent to Groq API for AI interpretation — no identifying info attached
- Analytics: Anonymous feature events via Mixpanel — never dream content
- Crash reports: Anonymous data via Sentry — no personal data attached
- Subscription: Managed via RevenueCat — no payment details stored by us
Local-first: Dream content is never used for advertising, never sold, and never stored on our servers. Deleting the app removes all your data.
Sakeena — Islamic Prayer Companion
- Location: Used only to calculate prayer times and Qibla direction — processed locally on your device
- Usage data: Anonymized app statistics to improve user experience
- Crash reports: Technical crash information to fix bugs
Local Processing: Unlike many other prayer apps, Sakeena performs all calculations locally. We do not track your location history or store movement patterns.
ARRIV — Property Rental Platform

AI Chat: All conversations are processed securely and anonymized. Your spiritual data is never shared or sold.
Virtual Try Room AI — Fashion
- Photos uploaded for virtual try-on (not stored permanently)
- Clothing images for AI processing
- Generated results (saved to favorites only if you choose)
- Usage credits and subscription info
AI Processing: Original photos are not stored on our servers after processing is complete.
TV Universal Remote — Wi-Fi TV Control
- Saved TVs: Device names, models, IP addresses and pairing tokens are stored only on your device and are never transmitted to us
- Local network: The app scans your Wi-Fi network to discover televisions. Discovery results stay on the device
- Advertising identifier (IDFA): Collected and used by Google AdMob to serve and measure third-party advertising
- App Tracking Transparency: iOS asks your permission before the IDFA is used for tracking, and you can decline
- Crash reports: Anonymous technical data used to fix bugs
Your TVs never leave your device. The list of televisions you have paired, their IP addresses and their authentication tokens are held in local storage on your iPhone or iPad. We operate no server for this app and never receive them.

- Search preferences and saved searches

Hushnote — Private Meeting Notes
- Nothing is collected. No account, no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising. The App Store privacy label is “Data Not Collected”
- Audio, transcripts and notes are produced by the speech recognition and language model built into iOS and stay on your iPhone. The app contains no networking code
- No third-party AI service. The transcript and the notes are written by Apple's own Speech and Foundation Models frameworks on your iPhone. Nothing is sent to OpenAI, Google, Anthropic or any other AI provider
- Subscriptions are handled by the App Store; the app only learns whether Pro is active, through StoreKit on the device

We cannot see your meetings. There is no server. Deleting the app deletes everything, because there is no copy anywhere else.
Third-Party Services
The services below are used by the apps named in each entry. Hushnote uses none of them — no Firebase, no Stripe, no AdMob, no analytics and no third-party AI service. Hushnote transmits no data at all.

- Groq API (Dreamscape): Dream text only — no audio, no identity
- Bible Chats AI: Spiritual guidance, anonymized and secure
- Virtual Try Room: Photo processing — originals deleted after use
