Black Layers

Please read these terms carefully before using Dreamscape. By using the app, you agree to be bound by them.

1. Acceptance of terms

By downloading or using Dreamscape ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not download or use the App. These terms apply to all users of Dreamscape, published by Black Layers (blacklayers.ca), a Canadian software studio.

2. Description of service

Dreamscape is a voice-first iOS application that uses artificial intelligence to interpret dreams. Users record spoken dream descriptions, which are transcribed and sent to an AI model to generate mystical interpretations. ⚠️ Important: Dream interpretations generated by Dreamscape are AI-generated content for entertainment and self-reflection purposes only. They are not a substitute for professional psychological, medical, or mental health advice. If you are experiencing distressing dreams or mental health concerns, please consult a qualified professional.

3. Subscriptions & billing

Dreamscape offers the following subscription options: • Free Trial: 3 days of full access, no credit card required. • Dreamscape Plus — Yearly: $39.99/year (billed annually). Auto-renews each year unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date. • Dreamscape Plus — Weekly: $4.99/week. Auto-renews weekly unless cancelled. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions can be managed and cancelled in iPhone Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions. No refunds are issued for partial subscription periods, except where required by applicable law.

4. User content

You retain full ownership of all dream content you record or write within the App. By using the App, you grant Black Layers a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to process your dream content solely for the purpose of generating interpretations via the AI service. This license ends when you delete your content or the App. You agree not to record content that is illegal, abusive, or violates any third-party rights.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to: • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App or its components • Use the App to generate or distribute illegal, abusive, or harmful content • Attempt to circumvent subscription requirements or access paid features without payment • Resell or redistribute AI-generated dream interpretations commercially without written permission from Black Layers • Use automated means to access or scrape the App

6. Intellectual property

All design, code, branding, AI prompts, and interpretation templates within the App are the exclusive property of Black Layers. The Dreamscape name, logo, and visual identity are protected trademarks of Black Layers. You may not use them without prior written consent.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. Black Layers does not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses, or that AI-generated interpretations will be accurate, complete, or suitable for any particular purpose.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Black Layers and its team shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the App, including but not limited to loss of data, lost profits, or emotional distress, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Alberta, Canada, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Alberta, Canada.

10. Changes to these terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes via an in-app notification and update the effective date above. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
