Contact

Email info@blacklayers.ca and a person will answer, usually within one business day. There is no account to look up, so tell us what you see on screen; the app's inline sentence under the Connect button is the most useful thing to quote.

It won't connect

• Check that iOS shows the VPN permission for Veil (Settings ▸ General ▸ VPN & Device Management). • Pick "Nearest" in the location list; a locked location needs Veil+. • Some networks block VPN traffic (UDP port 51820). Try cellular data to confirm. • If the kill switch is on and the tunnel drops, nothing will load until it reconnects. That is by design; turn the kill switch off in Settings if you prefer.

Shield counts

The number on the home screen is how many tracker, ad and malware domains were stopped inside the tunnel today. It counts while the veil is up. It cannot block ads served from a site's own domain or by apps that use their own encrypted DNS.

Subscriptions and restore

Subscriptions are handled by Apple. To restore on a new iPhone, open Settings in the app and tap Restore purchases. To cancel, use Settings ▸ Apple Account ▸ Subscriptions on your iPhone. Trial and renewal dates are shown in the app in plain text.

Reset identity

Settings ▸ Reset identity creates a new key. Our servers forget the old one. Tap Restore purchases afterwards to re-attach your subscription.
